Dear readers, since last I wrote, there is much to tell. As you know, I have been in the compound of Sword and Sandal Film Productions, observing and sometimes even offering opinions (!), on the forthcoming epic, Gronk the Blade. Most of the editing has been completed and D.W. is hard at work on the musical score for the film. The orchestra is due in next month and so the arranging and orchestrations are rapidly being finished. In mid January, D.W. had to make a quick trip to Brazil. It seems that one of the crucial scenes was a bit fuzzy, so most of the cast climbed into a plane and headed south for a few days of shooting. Upon their return, we were able to watch the raw footage, and I must say, it looked great! I heard along the grapevine that Darius was a bit upset at having to make himself available at short notice, but D.W. was able to persuade him that it was in his own best interest to come along. Most of the cast are into other film projects by now, but they drop everything if D.W. calls. (They also realize D.W. is in the midst of preparing two new scripts!) Last evening, as we were watching the newest footage in the private screening room, D.W. turned to me and (gulp) asked my opinion on some of the footage! Imagine! D.W. asking me for my opinion! I was tongue-tied, but managed to squeak out my admiration for everything I had just seen. D.W. was pleased with my assessment of his work and I was dismissed. What a night!!....K.P.
